Customized denim and high fashion
The times when denim was considered to be democratic are now the past. Today
customized denim appears in collections of high fashion couturiers.
This tendency was started by Carl Lagerfeld who made one fourth of Chanel collection
from denim fabric. The trend was then followed by Riccardo Tischi who made a denim collection
for Givenchy and Christof Decarnen who complemented Balmain collection with denim clothes.
Further on denim fever was supported by British fashion designers and fast fashion nets.

Skinny jeans by Superfine or boyfriend jeans by Current/Elliot – the choice of high fashion
designer jeans today is really impressive. Swedish denim brand Acne has already made two jeans
collections for French Lanvin fashion house – the first one in classical indigo, the second one
in white. However, jeans pants were not in the highlight of these collections – Acne brand manufactures
lots of them even so. The accents were put on skirts, dresses and even trench coats made from denim.
Above mentioned Christof Decarnen also created a square-shouldered denim jacket in old military style.
And democratic brands TopShop and H&M offer a combination of custom tailored jeans jackets with dresses.
The double denim trend we already spoke about is just a logical continuation of this tendency.
