The history of Acne Jeans brand - custom jeans made to measure
Acne Jeans brand was established in 1996 in Stockholm, Sweden. Soon some models manufactured
under Acne Jeans trademark could be bought in different Swedish boutiques. In 1998 creative
director of the company Jonny Johansson created the first full collection of the brand called
“Acne Jeans”.

In 2000 Johansson received “Best Designer” award by “ELLE” magazine. In 2003 the first
monobrand boutique “Acne Jeans Studio” was opened in Stockholm and then in Copenhagen.
In 2004 creative director of the brand received “Guldknappen Award” by “Damernas Varld”
magazine and in 2005 he was called “Denim Designer of the Year” for his “Acne Jeans” collection.
In 2008 the company opens boutiques in New York and Paris.

Today the brand manufactures men’s and women’s wear, shoes, as well as accessories.
The style of the brand is universal and functional. Acne Jeans collections present laconical
made to measure jeans models made from natural cotton as well as luxurious accessories. These
jeans are skinny and straight and emphatically minimalistic. This deliberate simplicity makes
customized denim by Acne timeless and extremely competitive.
Besides once a year the company issues a magazine called “Acne Paper” in which new collections
of the brand are presented. Today Acne Jeans has 450 boutiques in Italy, France, USA, Sweden,
Japan and many other countries all over the world.
