Customized jeans in home furnishings
We have already touched on the theme of customized denim use in home furnishings which is becoming more
and more popular. Here are some items you can create yourself using your old jeans!
To create denim curtains you’ll need several pairs of old subculture jeans of different
colors, thick needles and thread. Unseam your jeans and cut them in rectangles. Bring these
fragments together to create a curtain half, fix the parts together using pins. After you’ve
finished you can evaluate the rest fragments which you will need to finish your curtains. Their
size will totally depend on its purpose and the place you plan to hang it.

You can interchange the fragments of different colors to create a checkered light and shade
effect and decorate your curtains with pockets as well as with belts and other parts of your
made to measure jeans. The most interesting jeans fragments can be found in the upper part.
Besides, pockets can make your curtains more practical.
Cut denim stripes 18x5 centimeters to create curtain loops. Sew them down to the upper part of ready made curtains
at the intervals of 12 centimeters from each other. The number of curtain loops necessary to hang the curtains
depends on their size.
Denim can also serve as a table cloth. To make it you’ll need a 50x50 centimeters
piece of denim fabric cut from the upper part of custom jeans, a pocket, 2 centimeters
wide lacing made of faux leather or chamois, several pieces of lining cloth, a belt
fragment, a sewing machine or a needle and thread if you are going to sew by hand, glass
beads with large openings.
Cut out the edges you are going to put on denim and pin them to fabric. Fray the leather
lacing and one side of a 4 centimeters wide denim stripe. Sew them down to the pocket and
place to the denim fabric basis which will function as a table cloth. To create ribbons cut
out a 15x5 centimeters stripe out of denim cloth and fix it to the edges using a leather loop
with glass beads on it. That’s it!
Christmas time is over, but next time you can try to create denim Christmas wreaths! It is
quite easy and will take only two hours of your time. And the result will be just astonishing!
Take osier wreath, a stripe of denim 150 centimeters in length and 7 centimeters in width, a
stripe of flower-dotted fabric 150 centimeters in length and 7 centimeters in width as well,
a piece of cardboard, a needle and thread, bright-colored beads and buttons of original shapes,
small pieces of denim and flower-dotted cloth, satin ribbons of different colors 200 centimeters in length.

Wrap the osier wreath with a denim stripe and then with a flower-dotted cloth stripe, fix it with
several stitches. Then wrap the wreath with satin ribbons of different colors and fix them as well.
After this cut out small hearts, flowers, leaves or other stencils from a piece of cardboard and
put them on small cloth pieces. Delineate the contours and cut out the fabric fragments.
Gather all flower fragments and sew them together carefully fixing with beads in the middle. After
it sew together flowers and leaves you’ve made into a complete composition which you can later fix
on the wreath.
Sew down small hearts and buttons of different shapes to the ribbons of different length in a random
order. Then fix the ready ribbons in the back of the wreath.
Attach a fabric loop to the upper part of your wreath so you can hang it on the door, a window or a
child’s bed. Who knows, perhaps the result will inspire you to such extent you won’t want to wait for
Christmas to hang it up and start decorating your home with denim wreaths on your birthday?
