Custom jeans embellishment with adhesive labels, prints and Flemish point
Today we are going to return to labels and prints theme in customized jeans decoration. To create the
first original jeans model you’ll need to take prints and adhesive labels, pieces of denim fabric, fabric
color, a brush, a needle and thread, an iron and scissors.
You can transform a worn back pocket of your custom tailored jeans into a fashionable decorative element
by simply unseaming it. The denim under the pocket has a darker shade that is why every type of jeans
embellishment will look spectacular on this background.
Fray the edges using a thick needle or small cuticle scissors. The best and simplest way to decorate
your custom jean is to stick ready-made prints with inscriptions. Just take off the protective cover,
put your adhesive label on jeans and iron this place with a hot iron through some thin cloth.
In case adhesive label you have chosen for decoration has no protective cover you can sew it down to
your jeans after tacking it to the chosen place on denim. To transform a regular label into an exclusive
piece use thin denim stripe of a corresponding length and fray its edges. Tack the stripe to the edges of
the label and then sew it down. Fix the ready-made frayed label to your jeans.

You can also create a label of your own – take a small piece of denim and give it an interesting shape. Make
small cuts on the edges of your label, straight or angle.
Make some inscription on your jeans using fabric color or drew an emblem. Sew the ready-made label down to
your jeans using a back-and-fore stitch if you have chosen frayed edges and whipstitch in case you prefer
turned over edges. That’s it!
To build your own jeans decorated with Flemish point apart from Flemish point you’ll need open-worked lacing,
termoprints, sartorial chalk, a needle and thread, an iron and scissors.

To make an asymmetrical decoration of the trouser leg bottom mark and cut out of black Flemish point an oblong
triangle with the base of half trouser leg’s width (from one seam to another). And don’t forget to take into
account stitching allowances!
Turn over the stitching allowances, tack them and then sew down a Flemish point fragment to your jeans. Turn over
the bottom of the triangle on the inside of the trouser leg.
Tack a piece of thin lacing to the long side of your decorative element – it will create a neat finished look of
your embellishment. You can use the same lacing for decoration of front pockets.
Cut out a lacy detail shaped as the back pocket of your jeans and tack it to the pocket with the interval of 2
centimeters from its edges. Turn over the edges 1 centimeter and carefully sew them down.
Fix the inner part of the Flemish point inset using a closed seam so that it would fit the pocket. Congratulations,
your original jeans with Flemish point embellishment are ready!
