Custom jeans embellishments: embroidery, buttons, prints and satin bows
Today we are going to take a closer look on some more customized denim decoration ideas.
To make your own jeans decorated with buttons you’ll need a pair of jeans, buttons of
various shapes and colors, beads, thread and a needle as well as scissors. Use your
imagination to create a pattern for your buttons’ decoration and put the buttons on
jeans according to the scheme. It is always better to make your buttons’ embellishment
in the front. The decorated back part of your jeans will look beautiful as well, but
don’t forget you are going to sit on it.

Use thick thread to fix the buttons of the desired pattern. Add some beads – and your original
jeans idea is accomplished!
Another way to embellish your made to measure jeans is to decorate them with embroidery and prints.
Take a piece of denim, a glue vlies, sartorial chalk, black and orange embroidery thread, a leather
cord, beads, a needle and thread and scissors.
You can place your embroidery anywhere you like. Take a piece of denim and iron a piece of glue vlies
to the back part of it. This will prevent your embroidery print from deforming during wear. Turn over
the edges of a denim piece, tack them and sew down using the sewing machine. In case you want to sew
it in under the belt of your jeans, leave the upper edge untacked.
Unseam the inner parts of back pockets and the belt part in the middle and place your denim workpiece
symmetrically against the back seam and mark out the places which will be covered as well as the places
on jeans where the print will be situated.
After this put a pattern you want to create on the workpiece not touching the parts which will be hidden
under the pockets and the belt.

You can embroider the motif using multi-colored or contrast thread, for example, we recommend using
black and orange colors. The thin lines can be carried out using stalked stitch.
Find the thread color which will correspond with the tone of your embroidery and sew down the edges of
your embroidered print using zigzag seam. Put the print onto the marked out place on your tailor made
jeans turning over the belt and back pockets and tack it to denim. Sew the print down according to the
marked out lines, put the belt and pockets back and seam them again.
You can embellish the front part of your jeans with the same motif as well, for example, placing it in
the bottom of one of the trouser legs. Use decorative leather cord in your composition in order to produce
more effect of the large embroidery. You can embroider other elements with contrast orange-colored embroidery
thread folded several times.
It is not necessary to repeat the whole composition on the trouser leg of your jeans, you can just use
some elements of it. Add some beads in order to accentuate ethnical nature of your jeans decoration. That’s it!
Here is another extravagant idea of jeans embellishment – you can decorate them with satin bows. You’ll
need a satin ribbon, four pistons, thread, a needle and scissors.
Cut off the trouser legs of your custom jeans to create Capri. In the bottom both sides of the side seam mark
out the places where the pistons will be situated.
Take two satin ribbons 30 centimeters in length. In case you don’t like satin, you can also use various
ropes or cords; the main thing is you can pass it through the holes. Use a candle, a lighter or a match to
scorch the edges so that they don’t get frayed.
Stretch the ribbons through the pistons. Create bows or sailor’s knots according to your personal preferences.
Repeat all mentioned above operations on the second trouser leg paying special attention to symmetrical
placement of pistons and bows against the first trouser leg.
