Custom jeans: a difficult choice. Part II
Let us continue our story about how to choose ideal customized jeans and
a close-up on Victoria Beckham’s book “That Extra Half and Inch”, the whole
capital of which the style icon dedicated to jeans.
After giving some general advice on how to find ideally fitting jeans models Mrs.
Beckham analyses denim creations of some popular brands. She believes that Acne
Jeans ideally emphasize the form of legs and have a perfect boot cut and considers
Topshop and Moto jeans to have a good quality and a good cut. Those women who have rounded
forms Victoria recommends to wear jeans by Miss Sixty, while women with a more flat figure
should better prefer denim models by Grass Los Angeles, Acne Jeans and Habitual, which have
a brilliant back pockets design.

As far as the size of custom tailored jeans is concerned, it is everything clear now. However,
the length of the jeans you choose is also extremely important. That is why while putting on the
jeans you are going to buy in the fitting room you should tiptoe and then return to your feet again.
This is necessary because you are certainly going to wear your jeans with high heels as well as
with sports shoes. If you wear your jeans with high heels, the bottom edge of trouser legs should
end exactly on your toes. This will visually make your legs look longer. Of course the jeans model
which is ideal to wear with high heels will be too long for boots. But who cares. Frayed trouser
legs can also look fashionable.
One way or another, Victoria Beckham recommends every woman to have at least two pairs of jeans –
one for high heels and another one for sneakers. The second pair should also have a good length –
the bottom edge should end on toes as well.
A compromise variant is manufactured by Radcliffe – these jeans have special hooks which enable to
adjust the length of jeans depending on the type of shoes you wear with them.
Mrs. Beckham points out the fact that low-waist jeans are ideal for women with a thin waist. Those
who want to become visually taller should choose jeans models with a wide belt. As to the color,
light-blue is still the worst choice for most women. It looks too old and makes your legs look wider.
You should also be careful with abrasions – they should look natural, otherwise it’s bad taste.

Black jeans are gorgeous if you have managed to find an ideally fitting model. Black skinny jeans look
much better as black baggy models. Be careful with white denim – it suits the few and you should be
realistic about this.
Boyfriend jeans can be found at Gap, Moto, lee and Topshop. Straight cut models are manufactured by Habitual,
H&M, Grass Los Angeles, Rock&Republic, Wrangler, Levi’s, Abercrombie&Fitch, Pepe jeans and Acne Jeans.
Feminine models are made by Miss Sixty and Radcliffe. If you are looking for skinny jeans, try Superfine,
Sass&Bide, Moto and Topshop. You can find jeans with a high waist at Karen Walker, Joe’s Jeans and Superfine
collections. Low-waist models are a specialization of Frankie B and Tsubi. Designer models are presented by
Stella McCartney, Balenciaga, Dolce&Gabbana, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Chloe, Vanessa Bruno and Burberry Prorsum.
