Show business stars and celebrities love to design jeans. During the last couple of years they have
greatly contributed to the growth of jeans sales all over the world.
Designer jeans are today compared with haute couture denim creations – a marked trend of nowadays. Jeans
that for years and years were considered to be casual and banal clothes stored on supermarket shelves
experience their revival in the beginning of the 21th century and acquire starry status.
There is a real boom observed on customized jeans market, besides, today it is probably right to speak about
several jeans markets. The sales volume increases mane times, but until now it happened mostly thanks to popular
brands, although designer models come to the fore more and more often.
Masculine chauvinism had far-forth strong positions on made to measure jeans market – giant well-established jeans
manufacturers oriented themselves mostly on male customers. However, according to the latest statistics, men have
been buying only every fourth jeans model during the last couple of years, all the rest models have been bought by
women. That is why female consumers are a treasure for each tailor jeans manufacturer. And that is why the notion
“designer model” is first of all associated with women’s wear.
“We do everything to seduce you, dear ladies. You and only you are our stars. Now we want you to wear your jeans
seven days a week, to change them during the day, to spend more and more money for them” – exactly this implication
has every modern advertising campaign of well-established jeans manufacturers.
A Denim Gallery line by Diesel is totally oriented on women – stylish, exquisite and sophisticated. Unique hand-made
custom tailored jeans models dyed with natural indigo make the basis of this collection. Vincent Dupontreue embellished his
jeans with rhinestones and Diamant Jean’s brand decorates its creations with buttons made from diamonds. That is why the price
of such jeans comes up to $1000, although the demand on such models is enormous despite their cost.
As a matter of fact, the fight for women’s hearts started back in the 1990s. World famous designers like Dolce
& Gabbana, Armani, Jean Paul Gaultier, Versace, Roberto Cavalli and Calvin Klein began to present their charming
denim collections. These jeans creations were decorated with pearls, rhinestones, embellished with embroidery,
offering a great variety of décor and cuts. The principle “The more unique your jeans are, the more unique are you”
was declared back then, too. And today probably each fashion couturier has personalized jeans in his collections.
Be it jeans designed by celebrities or by fashion designers, the most important thing about them is the way they
fit you. And jeans should fit you perfectly. That is why Australian retailer Jeanswest placed cameras in their fitting rooms
in order to give the women customers an opportunity to take a look at their buttocks and the way their jeans look on them
in the back part. Now instead of twisting around near the mirror Jeanswear customers can see their reflection through the
cameras putting the picture onto a special screen placed in the fitting rooms. The representatives of the company assure
their clients the videos are not being taken.
