Barack Obama and skinny design jeans

President of the USA Barack Obama unwittingly has become a target for mockery after he put on high-waisted baggy custom jeans on 14th of July 2009 at Major league baseball All-star game in Saint Luis. Traditionally President of the US throws out the first pitch during this event. Journalists immediately called the jeans Barack Obama was wearing “mama’s jeans”, “old man’s jeans” and “grandpa’s jeans and started to twit Mr. Obama for lack of style and causing a fashion disaster.

In his interview to American TV channel NBC President admitted that he has shown himself in public in improper way but said that Americans should not hope to see him wearing fashionable skinny jeans. Barack Obama said, his style might look old-fashioned, but he loves his custom tailored jeans for they are very comfortable. Besides, he hates to go shopping for clothes and up until two years ago he had only four suits. He would rather leave it up to his wife to demonstrate the latest world fashion trends at the White House, after all she is the first lady of the USA, has a sense of style and looks fabulous. “To those of you, who want their President to look cool in his skinny jeans, I would say – sorry, I’m not that type of the guy”, concluded Mr. Obama.

American mass-media representatives believe that President’s public appearance in jeans has created great interest among Internet users. After the above mentioned baseball match searching machines were overwhelmed with queries like “what kind of jeans was Obama wearing”, “mama’s jeans’ and “Obama wearing mama’s jeans”. Some people even believe their President demonstrates fashion trends of the 1970’s which should become popular nowadays as well.

General stylist of GQ magazine Adam Rapopport gave President Obama his professional advice saying American President should not necessarily be a trend-setter, but Mr. Obama is young and good-looking enough to buy himself one or two pairs of perfectly fitting tailor made jeans. After all, American President should wear American style clothes. And jeans were born in America.

It should be mentioned, that Barack Obama has already held a speech concerning made to measure jeans. During his election campaign in November 2008 Obama claimed he doesn’t like the fact Afro-Americans love to wear falling baggy jeans. He said that brothers should lift their jeans for they are going near their grandmothers and mothers, showing their underwear, which President considers to be disgraceful.
