Once uniform for workers, jeans have long ago become the most popular and mass
clothes which inspires designers as well. It seems that custom design jeans will
never go out of fashion. Do you need reasons? No other fabric is so solid, sexy,
multifunctional, all-seasonal, timeless, careless, original and at the same time
casual, democratic, loved by both men and women of all possible ages…
This blue miracle
conquered the hearts of people all over the world not just in the form of customized jeans,
but also skirts, dresses, jackets, vests, overalls, coats, shorts, shirts, accessories… No
fashion show today is possible without jeans. Such luxury brands as John Galliano, Louis Vuitton
and Armani turn former gold diggers’ pants into precious designer jeans models and present on the
market their own denim collections.
In the 1950s practical and democratic spirit of jeans attracted attention of John Osborne and the
generation of beatniks. Jeans have come into youth culture and become more and more popular despite
the fact they were prohibited in schools and offices.
In the 1960s and 1970s personalized jeans are closely associated with the hippie movement and are
embellished with all possible means. Besides, jeans get linked to the downfall of communism and
symbolize western decadence behind the iron curtain. That is the time when pre-washed jeans appear
and become a craze together with bell-bottomed models, baggies, elephant ears and hip-huggers.
The fashion of 2009 and 2010 brings these times back. Tailored jeans of the 1960s, worker classics of
the 1950s and bell-bottoms of the 1970s become extremely popular again, as well as jeans overalls and
jackets. Practical models with patch pockets, zippers and rivets will leave nobody indifferent. Denim
dresses return in fashion, too. Collections of fashion houses offer us a wide range of jeans dresses
reminding of the 1970s, when they were worn together with cotton turtlenecks. Today we can find straight
shortcut jeans dresses, tailored models decorated with laces or those looking rather like a long shirt
or a vest.
Jeans skirts vary in length and cut – from maxi to mini, are decorated with frillery and jags, come into
country and military styles. Unique touch and originality is the motto of fashion couturiers in this season.
Dyed made to measure jeans models represent the influence of the 1980s. Destroyed jeans with unusual holes
on the knees, thighs and buttocks serve as an elegant element decorating jeans models. In fact, such holes
are much more expensive than classical models without them having a brand-new look. This streetwear smartness
is demonstrated in jeans jackets as well.
As to the embellishments of jeans, here we are reminded of the 1970s era once again. New jeans presented by
fashion houses seem to come out of films of the Woodstock times. Folk motives in embroidery, monograms, symbols
of the hippies, typical flower ornaments as well as insets made from silk, cotton, satin and military lacing form
the trend of the season.
Traditional indigo color is timeless and never comes out of fashion. However, custom tailored jeans today come in
red, lilac, turquoise, sand, green, khaki, and pink colors as well.
