Second life of jean rests
German fashion brand Postweiler Hauber known for its post-punk creations has
recently presented its new collection of customized denim
for the season of
spring-summer 2010. The label was founded by Eva Postweiler and Raphael Hauber
in 2003. Their new collection is called “Too Much Quatsch”, which can be translated
as “Too Much Trash” and is made from different parts of old jeans. One would call this
idea truly unprecedented. Until now new expensive jeans had to be dyed, acidwashed and
stonewashed to create a fashionable vintage worn look.

Postweiler Hauber has taken the easy route and let its collection get a worn look in a
natural way. When all is said and done, the ingenious is always simple! Take the old
clothes and design new ones out of them, and make it high fashion! Besides, Eva Postweiler
and Raphael Hauber used a patchwork technique while working on their collection, which
gives their creations a warm grandmother’s “do-it-yourself” look. Eco-prints, used as
decorative elements of the clothes line, only intensify this impression. And accessories
and embellishments of subculture jeans were made from pieces of
wood and natural leather.

The conclusions that we can make out of this are as follows: vintage style
never comes out of fashion and holes and abrasions, which disappeared from
jeans fashion of the season autumn-winter 2009\2010 will be fashionable in the
season spring\summer 2010 again! Hope this information will be helpful to you when
you decide to build
your own jeans with GetWear!
