Ban on custom jean
Jeans were once prohibited for schoolchildren. In Western Australia the
government prohibited schoolchildren attending state schools to wear jeans
and other clothes made of customized denim. Liliana Ravlich, Australian Minister
of Education considers jeans to be clothes for entertainment that is why there is
no place for such clothes in schools. Mrs. Revlich said she wants schoolchildren
to come to school dressed in a corresponding way so that they could concentrate on
work that is waiting for them and not charge their memory with trifles like the latest
fashion trends. Australian Minister of Education also thinks that the absence of school
uniform distracts schoolchildren. She doesn’t want do force the children wear a tie and
a blazer, however,
she believes she could dignify the look of schoolchildren by prohibiting them to wear
jeans.

It should also be mentioned that Australian educators are not alone in their fight against
teenage wear and aspiration to ban subculture jeans. Their Italian colleagues also protest
against
fashionable baggy jeans, however in Italy it hasn’t yet come to governmental resolutions.

Those who break the regulations would undergo special actions. Schoolchildren
wearing jeans would anyway have to study, however, they won’t be able to attend sports activities. Besides,
they won’t be able to go to excursions with their class and take part in any out-of-school activities.
